During the last week of August, the city of Maastricht, Netherlands holds the Preuvenemint 2023 Vrijthof Maastricht, a large outdoor food and music festival located on Vrijthof Square in the cultural heart of the city. Festival goers will delight in the culinary offerings from approximately 30 restaurants and caterers from local to international flavors. The name Preuvenemint comes from prevue (tasting) and evenemint (event) and this festival, which has been celebrating for over 30 years, is sure to uphold its reputation.

Vrijthof Maastricht

Het Vrijthof is a beautiful square in the center of old town Maastricht, paved with old cobblestones and surrounded by trees. Many very nice restaurants and cafes encircle the square. Adjacent to the Vrijthof is the St. Servatius Basilica, a Romanesque cathedral with crypts and treasures.

You can reach Vrijthof from Bourgogne Suite Maastricht by walking in less than 10 minutes. Simply cross the river Maas over the old bridge and you are half way to the spot.
